This summer, Novel Hand had six amazing interns. I’ve enjoyed getting to know them and work with them. And I’m just as excited to welcome another class of interns to our team this fall!
Novel Hand’s fall internship application is OFFICIALLY LIVE! We’re looking for students to join our team as Writing and Research Interns.
Writing and Research Interns write biweekly posts for The Journal in a humanitarian topic area of interest. Our interns also collaborate with contributors and other team members to research humanitarian topics. The Novel Hand internship program also provides opportunities for networking and professional development. The time commitment is 5-10 hours per week, and will begin August 31 and conclude in late November or early December.
This fall, our interns will also have the opportunity to create content for Novel Hand’s new podcast, Handful.

Here’s what Eve said about her experience as a Writing and Research Intern:
“I’ve really enjoyed writing for Novel Hand because of the community of learning I’ve found. Every article that other writers post is so well-researched and thought out, and it’s been an incredible experience to learn from and with such a passionate group of women. I’ve definitely learned a lot from researching my own articles, but the community created by Novel Hand through our meetings, social media, and the website has taught me so much valuable information about activism and action”.
