Environmental Justice

“Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.”

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Often, the negative effects of climate change and pollution land disproportionately on the shoulders of those who are poor, people of color, and those who bear the least responsibility for environmental harm. Here at Novel Hand, we’re exploring the history of the environmental justice movement and its successes and failures, as well as current problems and solutions to injustice.
