It’s that time again – applications are now open for Novel Hand’s summer 2022 internship!
This year, we’re revamping our summer program. Novel Hand Fellows will join our team for a summer internship and will stay on for a standard role in the fall. Read the position description.
Summer 2022 Internship: Writing + Project
During the summer, you’ll split your time between writing and an ongoing project. Expect to spend 10-15 hours per week on the internship.
As a writer, you’ll write articles in our topic areas. You’ll also write four articles to be featured in an Impactfull series in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023.
The rest of your time will be spent on a project in multimedia, community engagement, or internal development. Our multimedia team produce the podcast, create video, and run our social media accounts. Community engagement includes building partnerships, cultivating our Impactfull community, and more. Internal development will include helping to run our website, management, long-term planning, and more.
Our previous interns have enjoyed receiving personalized feedback on their writing, working with other interns, and developing subject matter expertise.
After completing your internship, you and the editor will decide on a role for fall 2022.
Fall 2022: Role on Novel Hand Team
Based on your summer experience, you will join the Novel Hand team in fall 2022 as a contributor or in a multimedia, community engagement, or other role. This will be a reduced time commitment of up to five hours per week.
Contributors write monthly articles for The Journal. Additionally, they contribute to the Activism, Meet Impact podcast and Impactfull.
In a different role on the team, you will continue working in the area of your summer project (multimedia, community engagement, internal development). There is lots of opportunity to work on projects that you’re passionate about!
