One of my favorite parts of this rollercoaster we’ve all been on since March has been welcoming two classes of interns to Novel Hand. Now, we’re hiring interns for spring 2021!
Beyond training and application of skills in one of three specific areas, the Novel Hand internship program provides opportunities for networking and professional development. The time commitment is 5-10 hours per week, and will begin in January and conclude in April. Deadlines and assignments are flexible based on the intern’s academic and personal schedules.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but you are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible. Applications will remain open until Monday, Dec. 21.
Writing & Research
Writing and Research Interns write biweekly posts for The Journal in a humanitarian topic area of interest. Our interns also collaborate with contributors and other team members to research humanitarian topics.

Business Development
As Novel Hand grows, we’re excited to explore options for revenue generation. Business Development Interns will be at the forefront of creating and executing our social enterprise business model.
If you’re interested in sustainable business, this role is perfect for you. You’ll have a major role in developing Novel Hand’s business model while working directly with our founder.

Multimedia
As part of our goal to make humanitarian impact more accessible, Multimedia Interns will produce podcasts, videos, infographics, and other media.
If you’re passionate about creating social change, but writing isn’t your strong suit, this position is perfect for you. Multimedia interns will work directly with fellow interns and Novel Hand contributors to transform their work into engaging, actionable media.
